Inconel 625 (UNS N06625)

Inconel 625 (UNS N06625) is an oxidation and corrosion resistant alloy wilsonpipeline supplies in flanges, bar, pipe, tubes, gaskets, and pipe fittings. Inconel 625 is employed for its outstanding aqueous corrosion resistance as well as strength. The outstanding toughness and strength to the alloy is because of adding niobium which acts using the molybdenum to stiffen the alloy’s matrix.

Alloy 625 has stress-corrosion cracking resistance to chloride ions and fatigue strength. The nickel alloy has high weldability and is useful for welding AL-6XN. This alloy resists an array of severely corrosive environments which is especially resistant against pitting and crevice corrosion.

Fabrication with Inconel 625 (UNS N06625)

Inconel 625 has excellent welding and forming characteristics. It could be hot worked or forged if your climate is maintained in the plethora of about 1800-2150° F. In order to control grain size, finish hot working operations should be performed in the lower end from the temperature range.

Due to the good ductility, alloy 625 can be readily formed by cold working. Because the alloy work-hardens rapidly, intermediate annealing treatments are usually necesary for complicated component forming operations.

For restoring a fantastic balance of properties, all cold or hot worked parts should be annealed and rapidly cooled. This nickel alloy may be welded by both manual and automatic welding methods, including gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, electron beam and resistance welding. It shows good restraint welding characteristics.
